Dilexit Nos: On the Human and Divine Love of the Heart of Jesus Christ

¹¹⁸ For this reason, when looking for a symbol to convey his vision of spiritual life, Francis de Sales concluded: “I have thought, dear Mother, if you agree, that we should take as our emblem a single heart pierced by two arrows, the whole enclosed in a crown of thorns”.
