Dilexit Nos: On the Human and Divine Love of the Heart of Jesus Christ
72 The Father is, before all else, the Father of Jesus Christ: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph 1:3). He is “the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory” ( Eph 1:17). When the Son became man, all the hopes and aspirations of his human heart were directed towards the Father. If we consider the way Christ spoke of the Father, we can grasp the love and affection that his human heart felt for him, this complete and constant orientation towards him. Jesus’ life among us was a journey of response to the constant call of his human heart to come to the Father.
