Mystici Corporis Christi: On the Mystical Body of Christ
100 Our Redeemer showed His burning love for the Church especially by praying for her to His heavenly Father. To recall but a few examples: everyone knows, Venerable Brethren, that just before the Crucifixion He prayed repeatedly for Peter, for the other Apostles, for all who, through the preaching of the holy Gospel would believe in Him.
