12 In this cause he was prepared to fight even to death and at the cost of the greatest sufferings: For the faith that is in Christ (he says) it is my greatest wish to toil, to live, and to die. Only let the faith be kept safe and untarnished . . . and no insults, no injuries, no reproaches can move me.
